Incidents

Session 38-2

Pygmy

As you were resting a small creature came walking towards you. A bit curious but mostly annoyed that you were brining heat into this most holy Ice. Upon inspection you noticed the small creature's breath did not form any mist. After making introductions you learned that the Ice dragons were considered holy, Ice's favoured. And that the mystics you were seeking you could find high on top a mountain. The description of the mystics made Zarrah shiver, Gith mystics by the sound of it. Unlike the dragons Ice didn't like them and with Zarrah sharing the disgust the pygmy agreed to take you to the mountain's foot. Without saying anything directly you had made the pygmy assume you were going to drive them off.

Session 38-3

The lone mountain

After taking you on top the ice at the base of the mountain the pygmy bid you farewell. Looking out over the glacier a lone mountain dominated the landscape. Going towards it, two rows of uneven pillars formed a several hundred feet wide corridor. As you climbed higher and circled the mountain you noticed these pillar continuing on the other side of the mountain as well. With the wind howling around you you came upon a curious piece of ice wall with a chamber of the other side. Sensing your goal on the other side you shattered the wall with pitons and hammer.

Session 38-4

The mystics

After breaking into the chamber you were welcomed by three figures in long hooded robes. As they revealed themselves and welcomed you Zarrah's worst fear became realized. They were Gith, or rather Githzerai. Acknowledging that you might me hungry after your long clib they offered you a warming and filling stew. Telling them the details of your mission they reluctantly agreed that the course of action would be necessary. To their knowledge your best bet at acquiring silver cords would be to infiltrate a base of their marauding kin, the Githyanki, and steal from them. But to do that you would have to travel to Astral plane, the realm of the gods, through the Dreamlands. And they would help you to do so.

Session 39-1

With the mystics

Tired from your long journey across the northern lands, through frozen lands and ascending a mountain you spent a few days with the Guthzerai before starting your preparations to travel to the Astral sea through the Dreamlands. During the time you became aware of pygmies skirting the base of the peak, curious if you had been defeated or what your were up to.

Session 39-2

Dreams

To find silver cords you had to get to a Githyanki outpost in the Astral Sea, to get to there you had to go from the Dreamlands and to enter the Dreamlands you had to dream. Putting your mortal bodies in the hands of the mystics you began exploring your Dreamlands. In the Dreamlands you found reality to not be fixed but those of strong will could conjure forth what they so desired. And it all mattered on perception. Some things were more permanent, those things considered to be what they are becomes fixed as that. With a basic understanding of the Dreamlands you set your eyes on the Githyanki outpost.

Session 39-3

The Githyanki outpost

Focusing your will on the silver cords and visualising yourself in their vicinity you projected your astral self to the outpost. You found yourself near a storeroom where a Githyanki wielding a magnificent Silver Sword was directing it's subordinates to get things stored away properly. After a short scuffle the sword-wielder leaped out the now three-walled room and started gathering reinforcements to bring to bear on you. Quickly locating the silver cords and whatever you could gather you hastily made your way back into the material plane. But in his looting frenzy Anton left something of his self behind.

Session 39-4

Sisters in need

With your ill-gotten gains you bid farewell to the mystics so you could get to Vecna as quickly as possible to hand over the cords. If there was something you ever were certain of it was that the Githyanki would go to great lengths to reclaim their cords. But it was not to be. As you arrived at Borderlands you smelled fire and smoke in the air and the passage to Vecna's lair was nowhere to be found, the pocket plane had closed it's connection. Making way to the surface you found Borderlands Keep under siege, the sisters exhausted and tired and hiding in the forest outside the walls a horde of trolls (and worse).

Session 40-1

A challenge

Asking the sisters you gained a bit of information about the siege: that it had been going on for days, none had really slept, Penny was out doing other things as usual and no real intelligence had been gathered about the opposing force. But your arrival had not been unnoticed and before long there was a rustling in the forest and heavly steps were heard. Brave and stupid as usual Anton leapt down on the other side on the wall and got ready to face whatever was coming for you. Out from the forest came a one-horned Goristron who had sensed the horn-cleaver having arrived. With the even battlefield it relished it's opportunity to take revenge. As it charged Anton, the horn-cleaver, it thanked Bathomet for sending it to it's minions. The Goristro, despite it's great strength and power, was banished to the Abyss but not without forcing Anton to call on powers that he should not have called upon.

Session 40-4

Dreamcure

As Zarrah was suffering ill effects from her escape from the Dreamlands she went to find someone to cure her. Someone was found, but that someone was more of a scholar than a priest. After a bit of bartering Zarrah left feeling better than ever, with two new fresh spellscrolls and out only the Journal of 501st Eternal Legion. And that journal contained spells fuelled by blood…

Session 40-5

Back to Vecna's cold embrace

After receiving instruction on how to find Vecna's lair once again and having rested up you "hurriedly" travelled there. This time Vecna had anchored it in a sealed off hidden passage under the altar in her old temple at Nub. Finding you way through the sealing wards and walking past the guarding dead you finally got back to Vecna to hand over the cords. As you now had everything you needed to hook Zuggtmoy all you had to do was to declare you were ready to go. While you got ready Vecna and Penny welcomed their new "guest", a drow wizard by the name of Gromph Baenare who was the cause of all this daemon business. Exploring about a bit for treasure Anton stumbled upon a room filled with urns of various kind. Getting the feeling one was for him to take he took an orcish looking one. It it he found a shattered crown of an old warlord. As Dag got information about the room he decided to take a urn as well, his he found was filled with clay. Knowing that the progenitor of the dwarves, the dvergr, was made of clay he realized he carried the remains of one.
